Soheil Shayesteh is a violinist, kamancheh player and electronic musician. He studied “Industrial Engineering” followed by a master degree in music "Live Electronics" at Conservatory of Amsterdam.
His unique and dramatic sound palette explores the intersections between contemporary classical music, Persian traditional music, experimental and interactive electronics, visual arts and improvisation.
His main focus is on live audio signal processing of Violin and Kamancheh and making Audio-visual instruments in which an electro-acoustic instrument is used to generate and control visuals regardless of any fixed timeline and based on the changes in the spectrum of the sound and the playing style of the player. Following that, developing a unique way of playing his instruments which is beyond the traditional fashion of playing them.
